The best AI visibility tools, compared

Ten tools, including ours, on what they actually publish: the entry price and what it buys, which assistants it covers, what a second seat costs, and whether you can see the answer behind the number. Checked August 10, 2026.

Every tool on this page does roughly the same thing: it asks AI assistants a list of questions on a schedule and reports what they said about you. The differences that actually decide which one you should buy are not in the feature lists. They are in four places, and three of them are usually a click below the headline price.

Which assistants the entry price covers. Nearly every vendor advertises a long list of assistants on its homepage and sells a much shorter one on its first paid tier. The gap can be eight surfaces wide. Claude is the sharpest divider: it cannot be read off a public page, so it has to be asked directly, and most vendors put it on an unpriced enterprise tier or leave it out.

What the price is per. These are not comparable numbers until you attach the unit. One vendor’s figure is per domain and per user; another’s is per brand; a third charges per seat and per index. A cheaper headline with two multipliers behind it is not cheaper.

What is left unpriced. All nine publish at least one price and eight of the ten let you buy without talking to anyone. But only some publish enough to price a configuration you would actually run — extra seats, extra prompts, extra assistants, overage. Two of them publish none of that.

Whether you can see the answer. A visibility score is an opinion about a body of text. If the product will not show you the text, the sources and the competitors it counted, you cannot audit the number, and you certainly cannot show a client why it moved.

Ten tools, ordered by
published entry price.

Ours is in the list at its own price, not at the top. Each card says what that vendor is genuinely better at — if a comparison cannot do that, it is an advert.

Otterly.AI

$29/mo (Lite)

The cheapest genuine way into this category, and the only one that prices every upgrade individually — you can start at $29 and add exactly the assistant you care about for $9. If you track a small number of questions and want to see them across Copilot and Perplexity rather than the three big assistants, nothing here is better value.

Assistants at that price
Four: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot.
Free access
No free plan. A 7-day trial with no card. Free GEO utilities, but no free brand check.
Seats
Unlimited.
Buy without a sales call
Yes, by card on the three published tiers. Enterprise is sales-led.

Peec AI

$95/mo (Starter), US pricing

A polished, fast product with the most generous seat policy in the category — unlimited users at $95 — and a genuinely good sources view that separates the pages a model used from the ones it linked. If several people need to look at the same board and you want breadth across the Google surfaces, this is the strongest self-serve option at its price.

Assistants at that price
Any three of six: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot.
Free access
No free plan and no free tool. There is a trial; its length is not on the pricing page.
Seats
Unlimited, free.
Buy without a sales call
Yes on the three published tiers. Enterprise is sales-led.

Mentionify

Free (Snapshot), then $99/mo (Micro)

Anyone who wants the three assistants their buyers actually open, from the first paid month, with the reasoning shown: every score breaks into five named dimensions, the whole answer is on screen rather than a summary of it, and every competitor domain on the board had to be proved before it got there. It is the wrong tool if you need Perplexity, AI Overviews or Copilot — we do not measure them.

Assistants at that price
Three: ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, on every paid plan including the $99 one.
Free access
A free plan with no card — 20 credits a month — and a no-account checker that runs one question against Gemini for a work email.
Seats
Unlimited, free. Projects and tracked competitors are unlimited too.
Buy without a sales call
Yes, by card on Stripe's hosted checkout. No sales call exists to have.

Profound

$99/mo (Starter)

The most complete product in the category and the one an enterprise buying committee will be most comfortable with: the deepest analytics, an agent-traffic view nobody else matches, and the brand recognition that makes it an easy internal recommendation. If you are running this for a large organisation and the budget is a rounding error, Profound is the safe answer.

Assistants at that price
One: ChatGPT. Growth adds Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, for three.
Free access
No free plan. A trial on the Growth tier, whose length appears only in their blog. A one-off AEO report behind an email and a code.
Seats
One on Starter, three on Growth. The price of an extra seat is not published.
Buy without a sales call
Yes on Starter and Growth. Enterprise is sales-led.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

$99/mo per domain AND per user (Base)

A team already living inside Semrush. The AI numbers arrive in the same account as the keywords, the backlinks and the rank tracking, on one invoice — and its prompt-research data, drawn from a very large collection of real prompts and responses rather than from an API, answers a question a per-prompt tracker structurally cannot: what people are actually asking, before you decide what to track.

Assistants at that price
Their own pages give two different lists. The pricing card names ChatGPT, “Google AI”, Gemini and Perplexity; the daily prompt-tracking help page names ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini, without Perplexity.
Free access
No trial on the toolkit — their help centre states a paid subscription is required. The wider suite has a 7-day trial. There is a free no-account checker; its cap is not published.
Seats
Per seat, twice over: the toolkit is a separate $99 licence for each sub-user, on top of additional suite users from $45/mo. An extra domain is another $99/mo.
Buy without a sales call
Yes. Enterprise is sales-led.

Ahrefs Brand Radar

$129/mo (Lite) — the cheapest suite plan whose features include Brand Radar, and it buys the whole SEO suite

Retrospective research with no waiting period. Because they crawled the answers already, you can profile a competitor, a prospect or an acquisition target on day one instead of building a month of your own history first — and there is no cap on how many brands you can look at. It also has the softest on-ramp here: a free account and a free no-signup checker, with nothing that expires.

Assistants at that price
Lite's 150 monthly checks buy their own worked example: five prompts on one platform, chosen from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot.
Free access
A free Ahrefs plan and a free no-signup AI visibility checker. No trial — they state they never discount.
Seats
One included; +$40/user/mo on Lite, rising by tier.
Buy without a sales call
Yes. Enterprise, at $1,499/mo, is sales-led with an annual commitment.

Scrunch AI

$250/mo (Core), per brand

Volume at the entry tier and a serious agent-experience side to the product — 125 prompts is far more than anyone else includes at their first paid step, and if you are auditing how AI crawlers see a large site as well as what they say about it, that pairing is unusual. The per-brand billing suits an in-house team with one brand rather than a portfolio.

Assistants at that price
Four: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot.
Free access
No free plan. A 7-day trial of Core, card required, which converts to paid. A free no-account audit.
Seats
Five included; +$25/user/mo, or five more for $75/mo.
Buy without a sales call
Yes on Core and Agency Core — their page says you can sign up instantly without speaking to sales.

AthenaHQ

Free (Essential), then $295/mo (Starter)

The most generous free plan in the category by a distance — a real free tier with five assistants and 300 responses, not a countdown — and the only entry tier that meters responses instead of capping prompts, so you can track as many questions as you like and spend the budget where it matters. Unlimited seats with role-based access make it the natural pick for a larger marketing team.

Assistants at that price
The free plan names five: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini and Claude. Starter names eight, adding Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and Grok.
Free access
A genuine free plan — Essential, 300 credits, plus $25 of free credit — and an email-gated homepage audit.
Seats
Unlimited, with role-based access.
Buy without a sales call
Yes. Enterprise is sales-led.

Goodie AI

$399/mo (Explorer)

By some distance the widest product in this comparison: it does not stop at measuring. Alongside visibility monitoring it publishes an optimization-actions workflow, a content studio, an agent-and-crawler suite for how AI systems read your site, attribution, and its own MCP server. If what you want is one platform that measures AI visibility and then does something about it, rather than a measurement tool you act on elsewhere, Goodie is built for exactly that and most of the category is not.

Assistants at that price
Three: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and Perplexity.
Free access
No free plan. A 7-day free trial on Explorer.
Seats
Three on Explorer, five on Pro, unlimited on Enterprise. The price of an extra seat is not published.
Buy without a sales call
Yes on Explorer, which their pricing page calls fully self-serve. Pro and Enterprise are sales-led.

Evertune

$800/mo (Pro) — printed, but every route to it is a demo request

The most statistically serious methodology in the category: by asking the same prompt many times they can put a margin of error on a visibility number, and by separating a model's trained-in knowledge from its live-search answers they can tell you whether your problem is fixable with content at all. That is a real research capability, and for a brand doing this at the scale of a market it is the right instrument.

Assistants at that price
Their FAQ lists ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek and Meta AI, counting the search and non-search variants of two of them separately. Their pages give different totals, so no count is quoted here.
Free access
None published — no free plan, no trial, no brand-check tool.
Seats
Not published.
Buy without a sales call
No. Every call to action on every page, including the Pro landing page, is “Request a demo”.

Where these facts come from. Every figure above was read on August 10, 2026 from each vendor’s own public pages — pricing pages, product pages and help centres. Not from review sites, not from listicles, and not from anyone’s comparison page, including our own. Where a vendor does not publish something, the cell says “not published” rather than guessing: in this category, what is left unpriced is often the most useful thing to know. We have not signed up for any of these products, so every claim about how one behaves is that vendor’s own description of it. Prices change and several of these vendors render theirs in JavaScript or by visitor location — check the source before you rely on a number.

Which one, for whom

If you want to spend nothing yet, Ahrefs Brand Radar and AthenaHQ publish real free plans, and several vendors — ours included — run a free one-off check with no account. Start there; you will learn more from one real answer about your own brand than from any feature table, including this one.

If the budget is small and the surfaces matter more than the depth, Otterly.AI is the cheapest genuine entry in the category and prices each extra assistant individually.

If you are buying for a large organisation, Profound is the deepest product here and Evertune has the most statistically careful method — it can put a margin of error on a visibility number and separate what a model was trained on from what it looked up, which is the difference between a problem content can fix and one it cannot.

If you already live inside an SEO suite, the AI numbers arriving in the same account as your keywords and backlinks is worth real money in saved reconciliation — that is Semrush’s and Ahrefs’ argument, and it is a good one. Ahrefs is also the only one that can profile a brand retrospectively, because it crawled the answers before you asked.

And if what you need is the three assistants your buyers actually open, with the reasoning shown, that is what we built. All three on the $99 plan, the whole answer on screen, every score broken into five named dimensions, and every competitor domain verified against the live web before it is allowed onto your board. We do not measure Perplexity, AI Overviews or Copilot; if those are your battleground, buy one of the others and we will not be offended.

Comparison questions

What is an AI visibility tool?

It is software that asks AI assistants the questions your buyers ask and records what comes back: whether your brand is named, where in the answer, which competitors appear beside you, and which sources the assistant cited. The category exists because there is no analytics console inside ChatGPT or Gemini — the answers themselves are the only data, so measuring means generating them repeatedly and reading them consistently.

Which AI visibility tool is cheapest?

Of the tools compared here, Otterly.AI publishes the lowest paid entry at $29/mo for four assistants, and AthenaHQ publishes the most generous free plan. Mentionify and Profound both start at $99/mo, but for different things — three assistants against one. Prices were read on August 10, 2026 and several vendors reprice often, so check before you buy.

Do any of them cover ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude together at the entry price?

Very few. Claude is the one that separates the field: most vendors place it on an unpriced enterprise tier, behind an add-on, or omit it entirely, because it cannot be read from a public page and has to be asked directly. Check the “assistants at the entry price” row rather than the homepage list — the two are often different numbers.

Is a free AI visibility checker enough?

For one question, once, yes — it tells you whether you are named today. What it cannot show is movement, and movement is the entire subject: the same question asked twice can name different companies, because the assistant may or may not search the web on any given run. A single check is a data point; a schedule is a measurement.

How was this comparison put together?

Every figure was read from the vendor’s own public pages — pricing pages, product pages and help centres — on August 10, 2026, and each vendor’s row links to the page it came from. No review sites, no listicles, and no vendor’s own comparison pages were used as sources. We have not signed up for any of these products, so every claim about how one behaves is that vendor’s published description of itself. Where a vendor does not publish something, the row says so.

Why is Mentionify not first on this page?

Because the table is ordered by published entry price, and ours is not the lowest. A comparison written by a vendor is worth reading only if it can be checked and only if it can say what the alternatives are good at — so every rival here has a paragraph doing exactly that, and the two things we are genuinely worse at (we measure three assistants, and we do not touch Perplexity, AI Overviews or Copilot) are in our own row.

Ten tools on a table.
One answer about you.

Every vendor above will show you a demo of their own product. This runs the measurement on your brand instead — one buyer question, asked to Gemini live, scored and itemised.

Add your website and target market (optional)

1 question, asked to Gemini — the real consumer model, with web search — then scored by the same judge the paid dashboard uses. Free, once a day per visitor; the result lands on screen and in your inbox.

One check per visitor per day. The full version lists everything a check returns, and the score page explains the number it ends on.

Your visibility moves weekly.

Every price on this page was read on one day and will change. What will not change is that the answer about your brand is different next month — which is the thing worth tracking.
